A fantastic example of a true tribal Beni Ourain rug. Made by hand with thick sumtuous wool and naturally dyed with pomegranate. This is an antique piece of a quality that is becoming much harder to find.
Beni Ouarain rugs are hand woven by women in the Middle Atlas mountains of Morocco, using undyed wool from the mountain sheep. Each rug is individual, often featuring black/brown lozenge or geometric patterns. The thick knotted pile of Beni Ouarain rugs originates from the need for insulation during winter, making them extremely warm and comfortable underfoot. Beni Ourain rugs feature some of the most timeless designs. Often woven from memory, rather than an exact pattern, they have an idiosyncratic nature that gives them a contemporary feel. Suiting a modern interior or traditional setting in equal measure, the neutral palette and lasting quality of a Beni Ouarain rug makes it a worthy investment for your home.

Disclaimer: Hand made rugs may feature irregularities such as wonky edges, natural fading and colour variation. These characteristics are considered to enhance and add to the charm of Moroccan rugs. We make every effort to accurately photograph and list each item. However, if you are unsure about your purchase, you are welcome to come and view the rugs at our showroom before buying.
