Size: 160 x 230cm
Material: Undyed Wool
Marmoucha rugs are hand woven by women in the Middle Atlas mountains of Morocco, using undyed wool from the mountain sheep. Each rug is individual, and like the Beni Ouarain, often feature black/brown lozenge or geometric patterns. Among the higher elevations of the Middle Atlas mountains, the Marmoucha people endure heavy snowfall and extremely cold conditions. This results in a quality of wool like no other – the thick, shaggy pile of a Marmoucha rug has a soft, sumptuous finish that has to be felt to be believed.
Our rugs are stocked in Northamptonshire, UK, and are available to view by appointment.
All rugs purchased online will be professionally packed and shipped directly to you using a reputable courier service.
Disclaimer: Hand made rugs may feature irregularities such as wonky edges, natural fading and colour variation. These characteristics are considered to enhance and add to the charm of Moroccan rugs. We make every effort to accurately photograph and list each item. However, if you are unsure about your purchase, you are welcome to come and view the rugs at our showroom before buying.
